As a general guide, an 8-foot table with standard 58-inch cues needs roughly 13.5 by 17.5 feet of clear space, and a 7-foot table about 13 by 16 feet; shorter cues help in tighter rooms. Check doorways and stairs as well, because slate sections and frames are heavy.
